“I created a vineyard where you can eat grapes directly from the plant without needing to wash them”
Alessandro Sala
Nove Lune is collocated inside the WWF Oasi of Valpredina, a place rich of biodiversity.

All the company vineyards are composed of disease-resistant vines. This makes it possible reduce biological fungicidal treatments.

Organic cultivation improves soil fertility and deepens the exploratory layer of the roots, adding greater quality to the grapes necessary for producing fine wines.
The two vineyards at Cenate Sotto and Cenate Sopra (where the wine-making cellar is situated) are both located on a hilly position at the foot of Mount Misma which, with its cool night breezes, creates optimal conditions for making wines with strong aromas and intense bouquets.
To obtain higher quality grapes all cultivation is done manually and yields are kept intentionally very low. Grass is grown permanently on the soil as well as under the vine in order to promote biodiversity.
Biodiversity is an invaluable heritage that I want to preserve and boost because it is a formidable ally. My philosophy is therefore to let nature have its way allowing species to control each other mutually so no one prevails over the other. I try to facilitate this task by introducing as many plant species as possible which in turn host more animal species.  Biodiversity creates low pathogenic pressure helping the vines to be healthy.
